The Uganda Transit eVisa is designed for eligible travellers who are passing through Uganda on their way to another country. It is useful when Uganda is not your final destination and you need immigration permission during your journey. The transit visa is valid for a maximum of 7 days and cannot be extended. Applicants generally need a passport valid for at least six months, a recent passport-size photograph, a yellow fever vaccination certificate, a letter explaining the reason for transit and the destination country, and proof that they are allowed to enter that destination. The visa fee is currently USD 50. Applications are made online through Uganda’s Immigration portal, so applying before your journey can help avoid last-minute problems.
